Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 28, 2026
The Top Finds is committed to making our editorial discovery site usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We treat accessibility as part of editorial craft, not an afterthought.
Standards we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is the standard referenced by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, and the European Accessibility Act.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) on every page.
- Keyboard-navigable layout — every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard.
- Visible focus styles on links and buttons.
- Color contrast meeting WCAG AA on body copy, prices, and CTAs.
- Alt text on product imagery and meaningful images; decorative imagery is marked accordingly.
- Descriptive link text — "Read the full edit," not "click here."
- Responsive layout that respects up to 200% browser zoom without horizontal scroll.
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query — animations are minimal and can be disabled at the OS level. - Form labels associated with their inputs, including the newsletter sign-up.
Where we know we have work to do
We test with VoiceOver, NVDA, and keyboard-only navigation, and run automated audits on every release. We know we are not perfect. Known gaps we are tracking:
- Some product imagery scraped from retailers carries imperfect alt text — we are progressively rewriting it.
- The site-search affordance in the header is still in development.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on the Site is hard or impossible to use because of an accessibility barrier, we want to hear about it. Send the URL, the assistive technology you were using (browser + screen reader + OS), and a short description to accessibility@the-top-finds.com. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to remediate critical barriers as soon as practicable.
Formal complaints
If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (ADA), the equivalent national authority for your country, or your local equal-opportunity body.
