Editorial Standards
How we pick, test, and write.
Five principles we hold ourselves to. If you ever think we're falling short of one, we want to hear about it.
№ 01
Editors pick, not algorithms
Every product on this site was put on it by a person — typically because they own it, have used it for at least a month, or have direct first-hand reporting from someone who has. We don't auto-publish, and we don't surface picks based on commission rate alone.
№ 02
No pay-for-placement
We don't accept payment from brands to be included in a list, ranking, or feature. We accept review samples; we don't accept positive coverage in exchange.
№ 03
We disclose how we make money
When you buy through a link on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. That commission never determines whether a product makes our list or what we say about it.
№ 04
We correct ourselves
If we get something wrong — a spec, a price, a take that aged poorly — we update the page and add a correction note. We delist products that stop being worth recommending.
№ 05
AI is a tool, not a writer
We use AI to help research, summarize specs, and draft outlines. Every word that ships under our byline has been edited by a person. We don't auto-publish AI text.
