What we noticed

Fit is the only thing that really matters for a replacement cap, and this one fits. Because it's made by S'well for S'well, there's no guessing about thread pitch or collar diameter. It seats cleanly and you don't have to crank it to get a seal. Aftermarket lids can be a gamble; this one isn't.

The honest limitations

This cap only fits the Original line in 9oz and 17oz. If you own a S'well Traveler, a wide-mouth bottle, or one of their newer collections, this is not your cap — S'well has made enough distinct lid styles over the years that cross-compatibility is not a given. Double-check your bottle's line before ordering.

Also worth saying plainly: $7 for a lid is not cheap on a per-ounce basis. It's reasonable given the brand and the precision fit, but if your bottle is older and the body is also showing wear, the calculus changes — at some point a new bottle with a new cap starts making more sense.

Who keeps one around

If you regularly take your S'well on outdoor adventures or keep it in a bag that has a reputation for eating small objects, a backup cap is a genuinely smart $7 insurance policy.
