Why Nine Ounces

How It Performs

The Honest Caveats

The narrow mouth is both a thermal asset and a cleaning liability. You can't fit a standard bottle brush inside without effort, and the depth of the bottle makes thorough hand-washing fiddly. S'well recommends hand-wash only — the dishwasher will eventually degrade the insulation and the finish. That's a real commitment for everyday use.

At $25 for 9 ounces, the price-per-ounce is high relative to competitors. You're paying for the design reputation and the colorway range, not just the thermal performance. Brands like Hydro Flask and Klean Kanteen offer comparable insulation at larger sizes for similar money. The S'well 9oz asks you to value the form factor and the aesthetic — if you do, it justifies itself. If you just want maximum capacity for the price, it doesn't.
