This one works because both sides of the equation are already about color and everyday ritual — Crayola built our visual childhood, S'well built the reusable-container aesthetic of the last decade. When the two meet in the form of limited-edition retired crayon shades — Magic Mint, Dandelion, Orange Red, Violet Blue — the result reads less "collab drop" and more "thing you'll actually use and occasionally explain to guests."

The colorways are the headliner here, but they're not the whole story.

Three sizes, one smart stack

The nostalgia angle is earned

The Crayola "Retired Colors" conceit — leaning into shades that were discontinued from the box — is the kind of specific, slightly melancholy brand move that works if you're already a person who remembers their favorite crayon. The print treatment is retro without being garish. On the kitchen shelf, they read as intentional, not childish.

That said, this is not a neutral-kitchen product. If your kitchen runs in white, matte black, and aged brass, the Crayola branding will fight everything else. That's a real consideration.

The honest conversation about limited edition

These are genuinely limited. When this colorway is gone, it's gone — S'well won't reprint retired Crayola shades indefinitely. If you like them, that's an argument for not waiting. It also means if you break a lid in two years, finding an exact replacement will be difficult. Buy the set because you want the set, not because you're building a modular container system.
