Proviz built its reputation on one idea: you shouldn't have to choose between staying warm and being seen. The Women's Quilted Synthetic Down Jacket is that philosophy made into outerwear. The outer shell is 100% reflective — not accent strips, not a reflective logo patch, fully reflective — and CE EN 20471 certified, which is the European standard used for professional high-visibility workwear. In daylight it reads as a muted silver-grey. After dark, under headlights, it lights up like a road sign. If you run, ride, or commute in low-light conditions, that distinction is the whole ballgame.

Warmth without the real thing

The fill is synthetic down, which we think gets undersold. Real goose or duck down compresses better gram-for-gram at the extremes, but synthetic holds its loft when it gets wet — exactly what happens when you're pushing a bike through November drizzle or finishing a run in light rain. The soft comfo-fit inner lining sits comfortably against skin over a base layer, and the insulated hood adds meaningful wind and cold protection without a lot of added bulk. At roughly 600g (1.10 lb), this isn't an ultralight packable layer, but it sits comfortably in the middle ground between a midlayer and a standalone shell.

Water-resistant, not waterproof

Worth being direct: this jacket handles light rain and drizzle — the kind of weather you're likely to encounter on a morning commute or evening ride — but it's not a substitute for a waterproof hard shell in a sustained downpour. Think of it as your thermal insulation layer with practical weather protection built in, not your last line of defense in a storm.

The pockets situation

Two side pockets. That's the full accounting. For running or cycling, that's workable — phone accessible, nothing complicated to manage in motion. For longer commutes where you might want an interior document pocket or a chest zip, the layout is spartan. The zip pulls are a small but real detail when you're wearing gloves in the cold.

A note on the look

The fully reflective outer is a commitment. In daylight, the silver-grey finish is unmistakably performance gear — you're not throwing this over a dress for dinner. It's purpose-built, and that purpose is conspicuousness after dark. If you can accept that trade (and the people this jacket is designed for absolutely will), what you get in return is something no amount of clever styling can replicate: a jacket that's actively keeping you safer every time a car passes.
