Best for

Runners, cyclists, and dog walkers who go out in low light and want a cheap, grab-and-go visibility layer that actually works.

Skip if

You're cycling in genuinely unlit rural roads at night — you need active lights, not passive reflectives alone.

$9.99

The verdict

At $9.99 for two bands, Proviz's REFLECT360 arm/ankle wraps are the cheapest insurance you can buy against getting clipped on a dark morning run — and unlike a lot of budget safety gear, the reflectivity is genuinely blinding rather than merely present.

What we love

  • REFLECT360 material throws back noticeably more light than generic reflective tape at oblique angles
  • Velcro stays put through long efforts — no mid-run repositioning
  • Two bands per pack at $9.99 is genuinely good value
  • Easy wipe-clean surface survives mud and rain without degrading
  • Works equally well on arms and ankles — versatile for different sports

Worth knowing

  • Yellow only — no neutral or black option for commuters who want subtlety
  • Velcro can snag on technical fabrics and fleece if you toss them loose in a kit bag
  • Not a substitute for active lighting in very dark or rural conditions
  • S/M vs L/XL is the only sizing choice — no in-between for larger women or smaller men

Our review

Why we keep coming back to this

Most reflective bands live and die by one thing: how much light they throw back at a driver. Proviz built its whole brand around REFLECT360, a material that returns light at extremely high angles — meaning a car headlight hits these and the driver sees a bright flash even when they're not coming straight at you. We've tested them on pre-dawn runs and late evening bike rides, and the difference between wearing these and not wearing them is not subtle.

The bands are 5 cm wide, which is wide enough to be seen but not so wide that they feel like a costume accessory. The Velcro closure adjusts to fit arms and ankles — the S/M band (36.5 cm) comfortably fits most women's wrists, forearms, and ankles, and the L/XL (44 cm) handles men's larger limbs. You can also layer them on calves or stack two on one limb if you want maximum visibility from multiple angles.

The practical stuff

Easy-wipe cleaning means a damp cloth gets rid of grime without you having to worry about whether the reflective coating survives a machine wash. We've run ours through light rain, mud, and the general chaos of a 6 a.m. winter commute and they've held up. The all-weather claim is honest — these aren't going to dissolve in a downpour.

The Velcro itself is strong enough to stay put for a full hour-plus run without slipping, which is a low bar but one that cheaper competitors consistently fail to clear. We have a couple of budget imitators in the test drawer that have migrated to our ankles halfway through a workout.

What this is, and what it isn't

This is an add-on safety layer, not a substitute for lights. If you're cycling in genuinely dark conditions, you still need a front white light and a rear red light. What the bands do is make every reflective angle of your body visible — your arms moving, your legs pumping — which is where the real conspicuity comes from. A static rear light tells drivers you're there; moving reflective bands tell them you're a person and they're gaining on you fast.

The yellow colorway is the only option here. Fine for visibility; less fine if you're wearing them over a dress at dusk. That's a real limitation for commuters who want to go from office to evening run without looking like a road worker.

The $9.99 question

For two bands, that's $5 each. There are more expensive options — LED bands, fabric-integrated reflective strips on running tights — but the bands outperform everything at this price point that we've tried. We keep a set in the car and a set by the front door. They're the kind of thing you buy, forget about, then are extremely grateful for.

Common questions

2 Reflective Arm/Ankle Bands, answered

Can I wear these on my ankle as well as my arm?

Yes — that's explicitly how they're designed. The bands work on both arms and ankles, and moving limbs are actually one of the most effective places to put reflectives because the motion catches a driver's eye faster than a static rear light.

What size should I order?

Proviz sizes S/M for women and children (36.5 cm circumference) and L/XL for men (44 cm). If you're unsure, measure the widest point of your forearm or calf — the Velcro gives you a few centimeters of adjustment on either side.

Will these stay on during a run without sliding down?

In our experience, yes — the Velcro closure is firm enough to stay put for an hour or more. That said, if you're using them on a bare sweaty forearm in summer heat, give them an extra press before you head out.

Are these waterproof?

Proviz calls them all-weather use. The reflective material and Velcro closure hold up in rain and light mud. They're not submersible, but rain won't hurt them — and the wipe-clean surface means cleanup is easy.

Do I still need a bike light if I'm wearing these?

Yes. Reflective bands require an external light source (car headlights) to be visible — they don't emit light on their own. For road cycling at night, you need a front white light and rear red light in addition to reflective gear.

How does REFLECT360 compare to regular reflective strips?

REFLECT360 is Proviz's proprietary material engineered to reflect at wider angles than standard retroreflective tape, which only works well when light hits it dead-on. The practical difference: drivers see you even when they're approaching at an angle rather than coming straight at you.
