The case for spending real money on an Adirondack

What we'd want to know

Outer doesn't lead with material specs in their consumer-facing copy, which is a minor frustration at this price — knowing exactly what you're maintaining (teak vs. recycled polymer vs. aluminum) matters for long-term care. We'd recommend confirming with Outer's support or checking the product specs page before purchasing. The Charcoal colorway reads as a warm dark gray rather than a flat black, which photographs beautifully and hides outdoor grime better than lighter tones.

Bottom line

This is a buy-once chair. $940 is real money, and there's no pretending otherwise. But amortize it across a decade of use — which is a reasonable expectation from a brand like Outer — and the math starts looking different than another $200 hardware-store Adirondack that won't survive until 2027.
