Our review

Bring your tablescape into bloom with our Astier de Villatte Hundred Leaved Rose Soup Plate. This delicate dish is a collaboration between two of our favorite makers — the legendary ceramicist Astier de Villatte and New York’s king of decoupage John Derian. Modeled after authentic 19th-century pottery designs, this simple, shallow bowl comes to us from Astier’s historic Paris workshop, where it was handcrafted from black terracotta clay sourced from the Paris Basin and a handcarved plaster mold — a slow-paced, traditional method straight from the Middle Ages that gives each piece its own unique character. Along with the brand’s signature milky white glaze, it’s finished with a vintage illustration of a lush, many-petaled red rose, taken from Derian’s expansive collection of images and calligraphy. An elegant addition to any serveware collection, we love it paired with other pieces from our Astier de Villatte Ceramics collection for a pop of color and a sense of romance. •black terracotta clay •white glaze •vintage image •astier de villatte in collaboration with john derian •handmade in paris •each is unique Dimensions: •approximately 8.75" diameter x 1.5"H
