Our review
Versatile beauty for compact spaces The Emerald Petite arborvitae stands out for its compact stature and lush, evergreen foliage, making it an ideal choice for small gardens. This slow-growing tree maintains its vibrant color throughout the seasons, adding a touch of elegance to any landscape. Its naturally graceful shape serves beautifully as a standalone specimen or as a low-maintenance hedge, making it a practical addition for those looking to define boundaries without overwhelming their space. Not only does it provide year-round greenery, but the Emerald Petite also requires minimal upkeep, making it perfect for busy gardeners. Its petite size means it can fit in narrow planting areas, corners, or even in containers. Planting this functional beauty enhances curb appeal and creates inviting outdoor spaces, whether you're aiming for a modern look or a more traditional garden aesthetic. Planting Care 1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Remove the stake and ties at planting, as these are only for shipping. Choose a location that receives partial to full sunlight and has well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and as deep as the root ball itself. Place the tree in the hole, backfill with soil, and lightly compact it around the base for stability. Add a layer of mulch 3 feet around the tree to conserve moisture, insulate roots, and suppress weeds. 2. Watering: Water the Emerald Petite thoroughly after planting and continue to provide moisture during its first TWO growing seasons. Once established, it is drought-tolerant but should be watered during prolonged dry spells, especially in hot weather. 3. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required for this tree, but you can shape it as needed in early spring. Remove any dead or damaged branches to maintain its health and appearance. 4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote healthy growth. Follow package instructions for application rates based on the size of your Emerald Petite.
