BaubleBar built its reputation on jewelry, which makes it easy to overlook that their Alpha Tote has become quietly indispensable for a lot of people. We get it — it sounds like a brand extension gimmick. But spend a day with this bag and it earns its keep fast.

The Harbor colorway is the kind of cheerful stripe that photographs well without feeling like you grabbed a souvenir from a beach boardwalk. The cotton canvas has real body to it — it holds its shape when you set it down, which is the first test any tote fails or passes.

The Details That Actually Matter

We're reviewing the Small here, and honestly it works best as a secondary bag — something you grab when you're already carrying a work bag but need a lighter option for after-hours.

The Honest Trade-offs

This is not a waterproof bag. Cotton canvas in the rain means damp contents, so if you're at the beach and a wave catches it, anything inside is at risk. There's no padded sleeve for a laptop, no zipper pocket for valuables — just the one interior pocket and the snap-close top. For $68 you're buying good materials and the brand's aesthetic, not organizational complexity.
