How it actually works

You get three individual 6-inch chain bracelets. Each bracelet can be worn solo — delicate, wrist-stacked with other pieces, or layered two-and-three at once. Link all three together via the connection clasps and you have a necklace. The mechanics rely on Aurate's signature loop design: every link in the chain can function as a clasp point, so you're not hunting for a hidden closure. The material reality of vermeil

Aurate works in vermeil — a thick layer of 14k or 18k gold over a sterling silver base. It looks and feels like solid gold, and at Aurate's quality level it holds up substantially better than gold-fill. But it is not solid gold, and at $428 that distinction matters. Vermeil will eventually show wear at friction points: clasps, connection loops, wherever pieces rub against each other. For a piece that's designed to connect and disconnect repeatedly, those connection points will see more wear than a single-wear chain would. Budget for the possibility that in a few years the plating thins at the joins.
